Moving backwards with Aver, having bought their new LP, 'Orbis Majora' recently. How did I miss such an adventurous band? The opener is a tranquil, fraternal acoustic number, next one 'Anti-matter' is notably heavier. The brilliant digeridoo-led 'Acid Reign' recalls Colour Haze at their most trippy while there's progressive flourishes on tracks like 'Real Eyes' and 'Decay'. This kind of electicism attracted me to Aver in the first place and it's exciting to listen to their formation.

Octave fuzz and plenty of swagger. Solid, surprising, catchy and replayable. Addendum: Ive replayed this many times now and each song becomes my favourite when it comes on now...Then the album is over far too quickly and I'm singing along with more and more of it and that's the best sign isn't it? A truly consistent, infectious listen. 🤘🤘
